(Still) Annoying the Neighbours is the story of a bank clerk who writes a classic punk anthem at the age of 22. A song that will take him and his band round the planet, A song that will turn his world upside down.

But, this is not just the story of a suburban boy achieving his dreams. It's the story of cycles of success, failure, disappointment and perseverance, of elation and depression, of rocking with punk legends like Johnny Thunders, Dee Dee Ramone, Rat Scabies and Glen Matlock, then busking in a subway, of rediscovered folk roots, reinventing himself as a filing clerk, warehouseman, fashionista, accordianiste, jingle writer, pantomine actor, film composer, before returning to the mosh pits and auditoriums of his youth, of touring the world with The re-invented Members. This is not a rags to riches story, this is the story of a lifelong love affair with music.Artwork and layout by New Wave Art Guru Malcolm Garrett - Foreword by acclaimed Bob Marley and Joe Strummer Biographer Chris Salewicz.

biography

In January 2023 JC did his first acoustic solo tour supportig Post Punk Supergroup Wingmen. JC is a natural performer and storyteller the shows went so well he is now looking at offers for more live shows.

JC's songs Sound of the Suburbs, Offshore Banking Busines, Solitary Confinement and Working Girl are part of the great English Hymn Book . The title track from the Members 2021 Album Bedsitland was a surprise No1 in the UK heritage chart in 2022.

Jean-marie “JC” Carroll has not missed a Members Show since 1977, his songs Sound of the Suburbs, Solitary Confinement and Offshore Banking Business are part of the Great British Songbook and can transport people back to their youth. They have lost none of their vibrancy urgency and remain relevant today.

He is also an award winning Film composer and 40 years of Punk, Pop, Panto, film and folk have left him with a lot of stories, a great repertoire and a story to tell about songwriting, sticking it to the man and flying the flag for Anglocentric Culture. In the last 10 years he has performed all over the World from Kiev to Los Angeles for Auckland to Aberdeen, now its your turn.As well as great songs his shows are also very funny, as he traces back his music education through his parents record collection through the early seventies to his discovery of music hall in the pubs of the Edgeware Road, he illustrates the direct link between Folk music of England and its unruly anarchic explosion into Punk in the late seventies.

For people who think that Punk is all about anger and aggression JC illustrates why it is also poignant, sad and funny, His Songs have been recorded by Beggars Banquet Stiff Records Virgin Records Island Arista and his new Material continues to amaze as he grows as an Artist.

FOR MUSIC

JC says "I have played at midnight in the land of the midnight sun, played at spring break in daytona beach, locked in a dutch immigration prison cell, fined by highway patrols, refused entry to canada, threatened by gangsters, intimidated by armed guards, cussed by rednecks, refused service at truck stops, I’ve been spat at, showered with coins and bottles , i've stayed in plush hotels in paris and cockroach infested immigrant dives in southern texas.

Caveman TV

Caveman TV... is the name of the band and the title track from their album. This band initially formed around the partnership of Tony Reeves and JC Carroll; who began playing together in 2012 when they met at a jam in the cellar bar of the Constitution Club in Camden. This unlikely partnership between jazz rock and prog legend Reeves and film composer and post punk guitarist Carroll Is one of those partnerships that on paper should not work but on stage is fantastic. Add to this mix The Only Ones guitarist and super-session man John (another planet) Perry and drummer Nick Cash. (THE MEMBERS AND FAD GAGET) You get one of those eclectic mixes that make something special. This album could be described as prog. It's a gumbo of folk, blues, hippie post punk and calypso that could only be the sound of Caveman TV. The title track is a wonderfully evocative song about lying on your back in the Pyrenees looking at the shooting stars in August. It is supported ably by a video of the band with shots of the Pyrenees and Stonehenge …it is the sort of album that could only be made in England with whimsical lyrics and a folk rock yearning… it should also carry a health warning as this album contains bass solos.
